A Houseperson services guests around the hotel in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner. The role includes maintaining high guest satisfaction and supporting the Housekeeping Team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, and public vending areas.
- Assist Room Attendants with removing trash and linen from guest rooms during high-occupancy turnover.
- Assist Shampooers with relocating furniture.
- Respond to guest questions and provide assistance, directions, and information.
- Report suspicious persons or activities and hazardous conditions to the Safety/Security Department.
- Provide safety guidance to guests and team members during fires or other emergencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting Room Attendants.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
- Professional appearance and manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and work as part of a team.
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push, or pull heavy equipment and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift equipment or furniture weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to comprehend and follow supervisor instructions.
- Knowledge of stain removal, chemical cleaning agents, and different types of equipment.
- Ability to learn and apply hazardous chemical and performance training standards.
- Basic English comprehension sufficient for safety and security information, including product labels and emergency instructions.
