Terms of Service
Last updated
These terms cover your use of Job9. They are short because the service is simple: we index job openings published elsewhere so you can search them all at once, and you apply on the employer's own site. Using Job9 means accepting what follows.
What Job9 provides
A searchable index of job openings gathered from public job-listing pages, together with alert emails if you ask for them. It is free, it needs no account, and there is nothing to buy.
We can change, suspend or withdraw any part of the service, and we are not obliged to keep any particular feature or listing available.
The listings are not ours
This is the most important thing on this page. Job openings on Job9 originate with employers and job boards, not with us. We reproduce and organise what they published; we do not verify it.
That means we cannot promise a listing is accurate, complete, current, or that the job still exists. A role may have been filled, withdrawn, or described wrongly at its source, and details such as salary, location or contract type may be out of date or missing. Always check the employer's own posting before acting on anything you read here, and treat it as the authoritative version.
We also make no judgement about the employers whose openings appear. Their presence in the index is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or a statement that they are a good place to work.
Applying, and what we are not
Applications take place on the employer's own site. When you follow an Apply link you leave Job9, and everything from that point is between you and them.
We are not a recruitment agency, an employment business, or an intermediary. We do not represent you to employers or employers to you, we are not a party to anything you agree with an employer, and we take no fee from either side. No contract of employment, agency or partnership arises between you and us through your use of this site.
Job alerts
If you subscribe to alerts, you confirm the email address is yours or that you are allowed to use it. Addresses must be confirmed by clicking the link we send, and every alert carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
Alerts are automated and best-effort. We do not guarantee that every matching opening will reach you, that emails will arrive promptly, or that they will arrive at all — delivery depends on your mail provider as much as on us. Do not rely on alerts as your only way of finding work.
Using the site properly
Please do not:
- scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download the listings, or use automated means to access the site beyond ordinary browsing;
- republish or resell the index, or a substantial part of it, as your own job listing service;
- collect contact details from the site in order to send unsolicited messages;
- subscribe an email address that is not yours, or use the alert system to send unwanted mail to someone;
- interfere with the site's operation, attempt to gain access to parts of it that are not public, or work around any technical limit we have set;
- use the site for anything unlawful.
We may block access where any of this happens, without notice.
Intellectual property
The design of the site, its name and logo, and the way the index is compiled and presented belong to us or our licensors. The individual job listings remain the property of whoever published them, as do any employer names, logos and trade marks appearing alongside them; those are used to identify the employer offering the role and imply no affiliation with us.
Adverts and links to other sites
The site carries advertising, which is how it is paid for. Adverts are supplied by a third-party network and are not chosen or vetted by us; their appearance is not an endorsement. Job9 also links out to employers' sites and other destinations we do not control, and we are not responsible for their content or their practices.
Availability
The site is provided as it is, without any promise that it will be available without interruption, free of errors, or free of anything harmful. We do not offer a service level and we may take it offline for maintenance or for any other reason.
Our liability
We are responsible to you for loss we cause by breaking these terms or by failing to use reasonable care, but not for anything outside that.
In particular, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for consequences of relying on a listing — including a job that no longer exists, details that turn out to be wrong, an application that goes nowhere, an alert that does not arrive, or how any employer treats you. We are not liable for lost earnings, lost opportunities, or wasted time.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and if you deal with us as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything on this page.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the new version, so it is worth a look if you use Job9 regularly.
