An L3 Support Engineer is the most senior engineer in the daily support activities of the service that Atos provides to its customer. The L3 Support Engineer manages the private cloud according to the customer’s needs.
Responsibilities
- Support L1/L2 ServiceDesk incident, standard change, and problem handling at L3 level.
- Prepare and execute non-standard changes requested by the customer, including creating runbooks, joining CABs, and executing changes.
- Execute production plan activities, such as resolving vulnerabilities identified by vulnerability management and executing or supervising monthly patch cycles.
- Manage lifecycle management within the assigned scope, including new software, firmware, and patch releases.
Customer requirements
- Must be screened by AIVD (Dutch homeland security).
- Must live in the Netherlands.
- Must speak, write, and read fluent Dutch.
- May be asked to work on premises full-time after COVID restrictions are released.
Required soft skills
- At least 2 years of experience working as an L3 engineer in similar large Dell/VMware private cloud environments with high availability and disaster recovery.
- Team player who can also work independently.
- Good communication skills with colleagues and customers.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work outside standard office hours when customer-impacting changes require it.
- Ability to create, read, and adjust documentation.
- Ability to take a leading and visible role in developing and promoting technical specialisms.
Nice-to-have soft skills
- Experience working in a DevOps team.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum product teams.
Required technical skills
- VCP certification for vSphere 6.x and/or 7.x.
- Experience working in a large VMware cloud with more than 10 vCenters and over 500 physical servers.
- Experience with vSAN, vSAN Ready Nodes, and VxRail.
- Knowledge of IaaS and PaaS and their differences.
- Knowledge of either Windows Server or Red Hat Linux.
Preferred or learnable technical skills
- VCAP certification.
- vRealize Automation and Orchestration Suite (vRA/vRO 7 and/or 8).
- NSX-V or NSX-T.
- Ansible Tower.
- Confluence and GitLab.
- VxBlock, Dell OpenManage, VMware vROps, and Log Insight.
