De-Fleet and Return Programme Team Leader (15-Month Fixed Term Contract)

How you’ll play your part

You will be responsible for the delivery of MBFS’ end-to-end De-Fleet, Return Programme and logistics processes, including post-maturity vehicle returns, vehicle inspections and asset transfers. Leading a team of De-Fleet and Return Programme Administrators, you will deliver an efficient, effective and high-quality service to external customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance, operational excellence and a seamless customer experience throughout the vehicle return lifecycle.

Main accountabilities

• People management: Lead, manage and develop a team of De-Fleet and Return Programme Administrators and a Co-ordinator, planning workloads and ensuring service levels, operational targets and customer expectations are achieved.
• Drive a high-performance culture through coaching, training, performance development reviews, one-to-ones and performance management.
• Foster innovation, continuous improvement and customer excellence throughout the agreement maturity and vehicle return journey.
• Support business change initiatives and monitor team performance against operational, quality and customer experience metrics.
• Operational excellence: Support the Asset Return Manager in implementing the evolving De-Fleet strategy, including policies, procedures and standards.
• Develop reporting on the effectiveness of De-Fleet and Return Programme processes and ensure business controls and process guides are used appropriately.
• Monitor quality assurance measures and report Data Protection or FCA breaches through the appropriate processes.
• Develop relationships with the Retail Network to promote the Return Programme.
• Supplier management: Manage logistics, vehicle inspection, fleet solutions and V5 management partners against agreed service levels and asset return KPIs.
• Maintain strong relationships with MBC and MBV to maximise customer experience.
• Customer escalation and stakeholder management: Act as the primary escalation point for complex customer, retailer and supplier issues.
• Work with Remarketing, Recoveries, Customer Services and Operations to ensure effective vehicle and case handovers.
• Coordinate asset recovery, vehicle disposal and stock management activities in line with policies, controls and governance requirements.

About you

• Experience managing vehicle return, asset recovery, de-fleet or logistics operations.
• Experience leading, developing and motivating teams.
• Experience of supplier performance management, KPI governance and service reviews.
• Strong analytical, customer escalation and complaint resolution skills.
• Knowledge of FCA requirements, Consumer Duty outcomes, cross-cutting rules and Data Protection regulations.
• Proven ability to drive process improvement and operational efficiencies.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across retailers, suppliers and corporate functions.
