Job Specification

We are looking for an Interaction Designer with 3–6 years of relevant experience in UI/UX design for automotive applications.

  • Familiarity with driver distraction guidelines is a plus.
  • Experience with mock-up and prototype development is a plus.
  • Excellent user experience and interface design skills.
  • Interactive prototyping capabilities using standard tools or languages.
  • Understanding of hardware, software, and service design challenges across mobile and tablet form factors.
  • Creativity and passion for design and the digital evolution of automobiles.
  • Familiarity with user-centered design principles, usability theories, best practices, and methodologies.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Balsamiq Mockups, Sketch, or an equivalent wireframing application.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and pixel-perfect craftsmanship.
  • Demonstrated innovative problem-solving and design excellence. A portfolio is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create wireframes, screen-flow diagrams, and UI specification documentation for individual applications, ensuring consistency with existing Mercedes-Benz interaction design patterns.
  • Consider localization, scalability, and ease of maintenance when developing UI specifications.
  • Conduct design research and strategy while keeping abreast of social, cultural, and technological trends and developments.
  • Support creative collaboration and the wider team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Information Design, Human Factors, Psychology, or a related field.
  • An advanced degree in design, HCI, or a related field is a plus.
