Tasks

Objective of Job: Exterior Engineer on systems and components for mirrors and glazing, including digital mirrors, sensors and glass-based functions.

Develop mirror- and glazing-relevant components and functions, including sensors and kinematic functions.
Lead system engineering, finalize the user journey and ensure overall system functions cooperate with EE systems, speakers, BTV and vehicle functions.
Verify concepts through vehicle validation in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Enable exterior concepts to meet customer needs and contribute to industrial competitiveness in terms of cost and features.
Coordinate and realize industrialization work for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars.
Support change management, plant issues and after-sales part issue resolution for exterior parts.

Qualifications

University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience with vehicle or mechanical components such as outside mirrors, inside digital mirrors or HUDs.
Solid CAD knowledge, preferably Siemens NX; very good knowledge of Catia or Pro/E and willingness to learn new CAD systems.
Technical knowledge of kinematics, electrical systems or optics is preferred.
Familiarity with development and production processes.
Native Chinese speaker with fluent English; German is preferred.
Strong planning, organizational, supplier-management, communication and problem-solving skills.
High commitment to automobiles, self-responsible working attitude and initiative.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to prepare and support supplier launches.
