About the role
As a Turnaround Coordinator, you will supervise and coordinate a safe and on-time turnaround for customer airlines in accordance with IATA IGOM Chapter 6 requirements and respective airline procedures.
- Ensure customer airline aircraft are loaded and offloaded safely according to airline, QAS, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure loading follows the load plan and that the load sheet reflects actual loading.
- Oversee all ground activities and act as the main point of contact for ground damage and incident reporting.
- Coordinate participating entities to achieve a safe, on-time aircraft turnaround.
- Ensure aircraft ground movement communication and headset operations follow customer airline procedures and safety guidelines.
- Check special loads, dead load, ULDs, aircraft holds, locks, nets, stanchions, and residual liquids for safety and compliance.
- Ensure safe and timely delivery of baggage and cargo.
- Cross-check ULD movement slips, cargo handover forms, unit summary reports, and loading instructions.
- Complete load plans accurately, report deviations, and sign loading instruction or report forms.
- Report deviations from procedures to the Ramp Officer or Airside Duty Manager.
- Update TOBT and TSAT and coordinate with the Pilot in Command in accordance with the airport collaborative decision-making process.
- Maintain accurate turnaround activity timings and allocate delay codes.
- Perform safety and security spot checks on QAS manpower and equipment.
- Coordinate QAS resources during airline or airport emergency situations.
About you
An ideal candidate will have a minimum of a high school, vocational, or diploma qualification, or equivalent, and three years of job-related experience.
- Experience as a coordinator, airline representative, load controller, or person responsible for loading.
- Ability to obtain aircraft or ramp handling certification, turnaround coordination certification, and IATA Dangerous Goods Training Category 10.
- Command of English and strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks, interpret SITA messages, delegate work, and manage workflow.
- Strong mentoring, coaching, teamwork, training, and development skills.
Preferred
- Experience in load control or as a person responsible for loading.
- Understanding of a Loading Instruction Report Form.
- Experience leading teams or operating headsets.
- Qatari driving license.
