Thermal Development Engineer

Objective
Responsible for mechanical, thermal and integration development activities for Cockpit, ADAS and Centralized Computing hardware products.
Support product development from concept definition through vehicle integration and production release by driving mechanical design reviews, thermal solution development, packaging studies, harness integration and supplier technical evaluations.
Ensure products achieve targets for thermal performance, structural robustness, manufacturability, serviceability and vehicle integration compatibility across different carline projects.
Mechanical & Thermal Development
- Participate in mechanical and thermal architecture definition.
- Define mechanical and thermal requirements for hardware products.
- Review enclosure, packaging and cooling concepts.
- Support structural and thermal optimization throughout the development lifecycle.
Vehicle Packaging & Integration
- Define ECU packaging concepts for Cockpit, ADAS and Centralized Computing products.
- Coordinate package development with vehicle integration and carline teams.
- Evaluate installation space, mounting concepts and serviceability requirements.
- Ensure vehicle integration compatibility and release readiness.
Thermal Management & Cooling System Integration
- Develop thermal management strategies for high-performance computing platforms.
- Review air-cooling and liquid-cooling concepts.
- Evaluate coolant interfaces, cooling paths and packaging constraints.
- Support thermal validation and cooling system optimization.
Harness & Connector Integration
- Define connector and harness integration requirements.
- Review connector location, cable routing and serviceability.
- Support harness packaging studies and integration reviews.
- Ensure electrical and mechanical interface compatibility.
Supplier Technical Review & Development Support
- Review supplier mechanical and thermal designs.
- Assess structural robustness and thermal effectiveness.
- Identify design risks and track corrective actions.
- Support technical discussions and design maturity reviews.
Validation & Product Release Support
- Support environmental, vibration and thermal testing.
- Analyze test failures and support root cause investigations.
- Evaluate product maturity and release readiness.
- Support engineering changes and production release activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronic Packaging or a related engineering discipline.
- Fluent Chinese and good English communication skills.
- Minimum five years of experience in mechanical, thermal or product development engineering.
- Experience in automotive ECU, Cockpit, ADAS or computing platform development.
- Experience supporting products from concept phase to production release.
- Experience in ECU packaging, installation concept development, thermal solution development and thermal validation.
- Experience working with vehicle integration or carline engineering teams and reviewing supplier designs.
- Ability to track issues, assess design maturity and collaborate across functions.
