Tasks
Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. is hiring Team Members to support the maintenance of facilities and equipment at its advanced automotive manufacturing campuses in Alabama. The role helps ensure equipment availability meets production and quality requirements.
- Operate and maintain line equipment to support production and quality targets.
- Participate in continuous improvement, criticality analysis, FMEA, preventive maintenance optimization, and breakdown management.
- Perform electrical, mechanical, software, hardware, troubleshooting, repair, replacement, and root-cause analysis activities.
- Complete preventive and predictive maintenance and document corrective work in CMMS.
- Install and maintain utility, conveyor, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and industrial processing systems.
- Install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery, robots, robotic systems, controls, motors, gearboxes, wiring, switches, and programmable logic controllers.
- Assemble and install pipe and conduit systems and test piping for leaks.
- Rotate shifts and work weekends based on business needs.
Qualifications
Applicants must have either a two-year technical degree in Industrial Electronics or Electrical fields plus three years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, or seven years of maintenance experience in an automated industrial manufacturing environment without a degree.
- Successful completion of a standard Maintenance Hands-On Test is required.
- Ability to work in a multi-skilled environment and perform the essential functions of the job.
- Preferred experience includes servo systems, sequential processes, high-level programming languages, human-machine interfaces, AC variable frequency drives, PLCs, robotic systems, vision systems, joining systems, frequency drives, fluid and gluing systems, root-cause analysis, and CMMS.
