Purpose and overall relevance for the organisation

The GPO teams in Global Business Services are responsible for driving the functional design of services and standard solutions, supporting implementation, and developing continuous improvement capabilities. The Finance Primary Data Senior Manager will be responsible for a specific sub-process, managing key customer relationships, defining the service strategy, specifying solution and system requirements, prioritising demand, and driving quality and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Define the process and service strategy for a specific process or sub-process.
  • Lead end-to-end process and service design, documentation, and build.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders and understand their needs, requirements, legal obligations, and accounting rules.
  • Manage and prioritise demand for the solution.
  • Lead implementation of the solution and service strategy in line with the overall roadmap.
  • Define KPIs and SLAs with customers and operations.
  • Contribute to solution and system requirements implementation by technology teams.
  • Ensure compliance with the overall solution governance framework.
  • Create business readiness plans covering IT deployment, data migration, training, engagement, and business-as-usual integration.
  • Assess business-user readiness, address gaps, and monitor readiness, engagement, training, operational metrics, and return-to-productivity measures.
  • Ensure governance and maintenance of Finance Primary Data, including cost objects such as cost centers, profit centers, internal orders, and the Chart of Accounts.

Key relationships

Customers of the sub-process, GBS Cross Functional Standards teams, technology teams, S4 project teams, and GBS operations teams.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Strong understanding of Global Business Services end-to-end processes and process design or mapping, ideally in Shared Services.
  • Familiarity with project management and Lean Six Sigma approaches and project lifecycle phases.
  • Knowledge of R2R-related technology solutions and digital transformation.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and managing stakeholders in a global environment.
  • Experience coordinating solution governance, enterprise models, process content, end-to-end solution data, and demand prioritisation.
  • Ability to define delivery guidelines, improve process quality and compliance, and coach and manage teams.
  • Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, international environment.
  • Fluent English and strong MS Office and SAP skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally as required.

Required education and experience

Four-year college or university degree focused on Business Administration or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in process management or improvement, managing small operations teams, and working with finance processes and accounting.
