Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
The Inbound Invoice Validation & Claims Management team within the Global Logistics Function ensures the accuracy and compliance of vendor and supplier invoices. This role validates and processes invoices and manages claims filed against carriers for damaged, stolen, or missing goods, including preparing and submitting police reports when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate assigned invoice details within SLA, including carrier costs, rates, budget allocation, and exceptional charges.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies by communicating with vendors and internal departments.
- Maintain positive vendor relationships and accurate records of invoice and claim documentation.
- Review evidence and document claims related to damaged, stolen, or missing goods.
- Process claims according to company policies and legal regulations.
- Prepare reports and relevant KPIs for invoice validation and claims management.
- Drive process improvements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements and best practices.
Key Relationships
Inbound Logistics departments, adidas Distribution Centre teams, SCM Finance departments, claims management companies, Logistics Service Providers, and GBS teams.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to solve practical and theoretical problems and interpret varied instructions.
- Team player with strong self-management, enthusiasm, and initiative.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in multinational and matrix environments.
- Professional knowledge of ocean, air, and land transport markets and claims management.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Preferably experienced with Microsoft Excel, including Power Query, and Power BI.
Education and Experience
- University degree or equivalent experience, preferably in accounting, business, logistics, planning, supply chain, information systems, or operations.
- Two to three years of experience, ideally in supply chain management or a fast-moving logistics environment involving freight forwarding and shipment management.
- Knowledge of legal-finance and invoicing processes in a supply chain environment.
- Business-level English communication skills.
