Purpose & overall relevance for the organisation
To maintain proper and adequate accounting records to ensure accurate reporting of the company’s financial results.
Key responsibilities
- Handle Accounts Payable matters, including recording supplier transactions, payment scheduling and settlement, reviewing Accounts Payable details, and reconciling them with the general ledger.
- Screen purchase and payment requests for compliance with company policy and tax regulations.
- Handle Accounts Receivable matters, including recording customer transactions, collections, sales invoices and credit notes, monthly GUI and customer statements, reconciliation with the general ledger, AR aging analysis, and overdue follow-up.
- Handle inventory and cost-related matters, including purchase returns, inventory depreciation and revaluation, stock value reviews, and reconciliation with the general ledger.
- Handle fixed asset matters, including acquisitions, disposals, reclassifications, monthly depreciation, ledger reviews, movement reports, general ledger reconciliation, and annual physical counts.
- Manage IFRS 16 lease accounting, including lease contract review, system uploads, and related accounting administration.
- Reconcile shop sales between POS and ERP systems.
- Reconcile store cash and credit card transactions, analyze discrepancies, and resolve issues.
- Review bank reconciliations and follow up on discrepancies.
- Support month-end and quarter-end closing.
- Support monthly expense analysis and cost control within RFC and budget.
- Prepare account breakdowns and reports as required.
- Perform physical inventory counts and variance analysis.
Tax responsibilities
- Prepare monthly withholding tax payments, reconciliations, and the annual withholding statement summary for the tax authority.
- Issue GUI and prepare VAT report 401 for the tax authority, ensuring reconciliation with accounting records.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Relevant financial accounting experience within a multinational organization; CPA firm experience is preferred.
- Good written and spoken English.
Education and experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
