Mercedes pay is the FinTech branch and payment knowledge hub of Mercedes-Benz. It operates in more than 40 countries and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz AG, with offices in Berlin, Stuttgart, and Farmington Hills.

Your responsibilities

• Shape innovative software and system architectures for the Mercedes pay payment platform and customer-facing products.
• Translate business, functional, and non-functional requirements into architecture decisions and scalable solution designs.
• Design, validate, and continuously evolve robust solutions aligned with current and future requirements.
• Assess systems, infrastructure, and business processes to identify improvements and ensure smooth integration.
• Define platform components, interfaces, data flows, technologies, platforms, and tools.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and Solution, Enterprise, Cloud, and Security Architects.
• Work with external development teams to ensure architectural consistency, quality standards, and best practices.
• Communicate complex topics clearly and document key solution decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or a similar field and more than five years of experience as a Solution Architect in software product development.
• Hands-on experience integrating payment platforms, PSPs, and gateway services into merchant checkout implementations.
• Experience designing or operating payment gateway services, tokenization, authorization flows, and settlement or reconciliation.
• Knowledge of payment industry standards, PSP API ecosystems, PCI DSS, PSD2/SCA, and AML/KYC basics.
• Experience in Agile environments and cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of microservices, event-driven architectures, Domain-Driven Design, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• Experience with Jira, GitHub, Datadog, Kafka, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with a calm, structured, and solution-oriented approach.
