Senior Program Manager - IT for Mobility

Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), headquartered in Bengaluru with a satellite office in Pune, is the largest R&D center for Mercedes-Benz Group AG outside of Germany. Its mission is to drive innovation and excellence in automotive engineering, digitalization, and sustainable mobility solutions.

MBRDI is looking for a strong technology leader to lead the IT Mobility Product Development team of more than 40 technology professionals within Mercedes-Benz Tech India.

The team develops and maintains mobility products including Credit Platform, Credit Risk Digital, Customer Portal solutions for AAP and EUR markets, and other Mercedes-Benz automotive mobility products.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT Mobility Product Development teams and complex transformational programs across geographies.
• Manage end-to-end project and program planning, delivery, risk management, client interaction, troubleshooting, and team utilization.
• Build and lead highly engaged teams, conduct appraisals, provide timely feedback, and ensure effective people management.
• Drive digitalization initiatives using metrics and KPIs for data-driven decisions.
• Contribute to innovation, including topics involving GenAI.
• Manage teams and budgets, including operative planning, project planning, and rotation plans.
• Resolve complex department-wide operational problems.
• Define and establish functional procedures and quality management policies.
• Ensure compliance guidelines are followed within the area of responsibility.
• Recruit Program Managers and below.
• Build sustainable business relationships within Mercedes-Benz, MBRDI, and supplier organizations.

Skills and experience

• Software engineering expertise with experience in product development, implementation, and support.
• Experience leading large and complex transformational programs with cross-functional teams across geographies.
• Experience with Agile development, Scrum or Kanban, and DevOps methodologies.
• Strong IT application program management skills; PMI or equivalent certification or relevant experience preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience as an IT program manager.
• Experience structuring approaches to complex problem solving; LEAN process experience is preferred.
• Experience working in large, complex, fast-paced organizations.
• Strong stakeholder management, interpersonal, and English communication skills. German is an advantage.
• Proficiency with standard office and reporting applications, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with enterprise application architecture, design, and development using technologies such as .NET, .NET Core, Java, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, DevSecOps, Azure, SQL Server or Oracle, and Git.
• Cross-cultural awareness, empathy, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

Graduate in any field; a B.E. in any branch is preferred.
