Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation

Responsible for compliance with Federal regulations in the area of Social Security and for managing Global Mobility payroll for the HQ location, including payroll accounting and payroll audits. Contributes to adherence, optimization and compliance of adidas AG HR practices to Social Security regulations, laws and obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accurate and timely filing of social security contributions and other statutory information requests.
  • Identify solutions for routine social security issues and organize the team to meet rigid deadlines.
  • Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of specialists.
  • Develop, implement and recommend processes and procedures to create efficiency and standardization.
  • Maintain complete and accurate policy and procedure documentation.
  • Participate in HR projects and lead projects related to social security, global mobility payroll, payroll accounting and audits.
  • Manage monthly and year-end activities related to social security, global mobility and payroll accounting.
  • Ensure payroll, accounting and auxiliary system requirements are met regarding social security, global mobility tax setup, tax deposits, tax filing and year-end reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local tax regulations.
  • Communicate changes to policies, procedures and regulations to employees and stakeholders.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for relevant regulations, laws and employment standards.
  • Prepare reports for internal management and external audit requests.
  • Resolve complex escalated enquiries from Corporate Tax, Finance, Audit and employees.
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers, consultants and social security authorities.
  • Handle HQ reporting to local authorities and assist with social security regulation audits.
  • Serve as the primary contact for social security matters and support HR Services, Rewards and HR Partners.
  • Revise guidelines and define and document cross-departmental workflows.

Key Relationships

HR Services, Rewards Partners, HR Partners and HR Directors, Group Taxes, Works Council, Social Security authorities, External Consultants and Finance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent command of English and German.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications and business computing solutions, ideally SAP-HR/FI.
  • International mindset, high self-motivation and strong teamwork.
  • Strong customer focus and service mindset.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and budget procedures.
  • Continuous improvement orientation and ability to handle complaints professionally.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented working style.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • Social Security consultant.
  • University or commercial education with relevant specialization.
  • 8+ years of work experience in payroll administration, focusing on Social Security.
  • 2+ years of managerial experience.
  • Prior shared service environment experience preferred.
