About the role
Working with leadership and key stakeholders across the business, the Senior FP&A Manager leads financial planning and analysis activities across sales, operating expenses and overall financial statement consolidation. Managing four FP&A managers, supported by analysts, the role is responsible for the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, periodic performance analysis and ad hoc commercial analysis.
The role offers exposure to Primark’s commercial business, operations and people, with financial planning playing a key role in business direction and decision-making.

Responsibilities
- Lead the team developing and maintaining budgets and forecasts for group-wide sales, operating expenses and capital expenditure.
- Lead consolidation and management of the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statement for financial planning activities.
- Partner with functional leaders to understand financial performance, provide insights and support decision-making.
- Prepare and present reports and dashboards to senior leadership, highlighting costs, performance trends and business insights.
- Analyse trends, identify optimisation opportunities and track key performance indicators.
- Monitor industry trends and global macroeconomic insights to anticipate business risks and opportunities.
- Prioritise activities and drive delivery through collaboration across multiple teams.
- Build effective communication channels with business leaders and stakeholders.
- Work with commercial finance, strategic finance and central planning teams to align with group priorities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to assess performance and improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant with at least five years of post-qualified experience in a commercial finance role.
- Previous experience leading an FP&A team in a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Strong work ethic and comfort working in an unstructured, consultative setting focused on value creation.
- Strong organisational, planning and delegation skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables to deadlines.
- Ability to partner across all levels of an organisation and support strategy, delivery and reporting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present a compelling story to stakeholders.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to assimilate information, assess options and communicate clearly.
- Strategic thinking, commercial focus and the ability to formulate opinions through financial analysis and multiple sources of insight.
- Ability to influence and empower others to think creatively and optimise efficiency and value.
Specific retail experience would be an advantage.
