As the Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be part of the software development team and responsible for delivering, managing, and maintaining a DevOps environment, including CI/CD, configuration management, and release automation for in-house products. You will collaborate with Product Owners, Product Architects, and software engineering teams to translate technical and business needs into improvements to the DevOps landscape and services.
The role reports directly to the Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
- Work with software developers, QAs, system administrators, network engineers, and other staff to improve delivery processes and oversee code releases and deployments.
- Contribute to multi-team efforts to deliver, manage, and maintain configuration and release automation.
- Enhance end-to-end development processes and ensure platform reliability and availability.
- Develop automated pipelines for building, testing, and deploying software applications, and create, maintain, and document CI/CD environments.
- Support and enhance build and release processes through automation, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Establish configuration standards and guidelines for software and infrastructure.
- Drive operational excellence through automation, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Recommend and implement system enhancements covering upgrades, patching, monitoring, problem resolution, configuration management, and security.
- Contribute to fault-tolerance and rapid-recovery mechanisms and architectures.
- Evaluate trade-offs between performance, scalability, cost, and time-to-market.
- Help build and scale the infrastructure of the delivery platform.
- Ensure the underlying infrastructure supporting development, testing, and production is properly automated, and contribute to improvements in infrastructure, architecture, and monitoring.
Technology stack
Mandatory: Azure, Azure DevOps and CI/CD Pipelines, Docker or Podman, Terraform, Kubernetes (AKS), ArgoCD, and Crossplane.
Optional: Traefik, Azure Front Door, WAF, ACME certificates, and AKS cost optimization experience.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer and 8 or more years of overall IT experience.
- Experience designing, building, integrating, and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Azure Repos, and Azure Pipelines.
- Hands-on experience managing, configuring, and maintaining Azure DevOps.
- Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-400 are advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code.
- Proficiency in version control systems, including branching, merging, pull requests, conflict resolution, and workflows using Azure Repos and Git.
- Experience in release management and integrating monitoring and communication services into pipelines.
- Knowledge of security best practices for cloud-based environments.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills for diagnosing and troubleshooting complex infrastructure, application, and automation issues.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving DevOps tools, technologies, and processes.
- A pragmatic and collaborative approach.
