NIKE, Inc. is looking for a Senior Developer, Apparel to play a crucial role in the conceptualization, development, and execution of apparel products for the Great China Local Creation team.
What You Will Work On
- Manage the end-to-end product development process for apparel lines, from costing and sample tracking through final production.
- Collaborate with product development, design, sourcing, and other cross-functional partners to align on product vision and execution.
- Conduct market research to stay current on industry trends and consumer preferences.
- Source and select fabrics, trims, and other materials based on quality, cost, and lead times.
- Oversee sample development, costing sessions, and revisions to meet fit and quality standards.
- Manage domestic and international manufacturer relationships and ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor production processes and troubleshoot issues to ensure on-time delivery.
- Connect domestic suppliers with NIKE across North American, European, and Asian regions.
- Develop apparel products that bring energy to local markets.
Day-to-Day Tasks
- Develop new styles and complete tech packs and other technical specifications.
- Supervise manufacturers during product development.
- Review and revise samples.
- Manage costing and resolve issues throughout product testing.
- Track industry trends in technology and materials.
- Visit factories and maintain vendor relationships.
Who You Will Work With
You will work with Great China product line managers, technical designers, product developers, designers, material and trim development teams, sourcing and costing partners, and other functions within and outside China. You will also work with domestic and international manufacturers.
What You Bring
- Minimum 7 years of experience in apparel development and manufacturing, preferably in sportswear.
- Strong technical knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetics and quality.
- Experience working with domestic and international manufacturers.
- Ability to support the manager, work effectively as part of a team, and meet development KPIs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
