Who You’ll Work With

As a member of the Nike Basketball Footwear Development team, you will work to deliver the world’s greatest basketball footwear for Nike Signature Athletes and athletes around the world. You’ll collaborate with key footwear functional partners across the globe and help ensure that performance, quality and business needs are always considered.

You are the key point of contact between PMO/PCC partners and the PHK product team, ensuring communication during the product development process is complete, clear, and accurate. This role reports to the Director, Nike Basketball Footwear Product Development.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a Senior Footwear Product Developer to be an integral part of the Nike Basketball team and help create pinnacle-performance footwear for high-performing basketball athletes. The ideal candidate demonstrates project management, collaboration, and problem-solving skills on a performance sports team.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial design, business, marketing, physical sciences, or a related field. Any suitable combination of education, experience, and training will be accepted.
• A minimum of 4 years of directly relevant work experience.
• Directly applicable footwear development or engineering experience across multiple footwear sports or styles.
• Experience or training in marketing, business, industrial design, engineering, or physical sciences preferred.
• Solid understanding of tools supporting the footwear product creation process, including footwear lasts, upper patterns, materials, chemistry, bottom tooling, injection and plates, costing, test methodologies, and manufacturing.
• Demonstrated experience driving product initiatives or strategy across footwear dimensions or divisions.
• Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the ability to champion complex projects cross-functionally and vertically, including with senior leaders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized and resilient, with a high tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to balance evolving priorities.
• Leadership skills that nurture partnership, instill trust, and empower teammates and peers.
• Strong understanding of the creation process, including production planning, forecasting, and scheduling.
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.

What You’ll Work On

As a Senior Footwear Product Developer for Nike Basketball, you will work on new technical product creation as well as color, material, and graphic applications. You will drive product and process excellence for assigned projects, converting a project brief and 2D design tech pack into a physical footwear sample that meets athlete, consumer, and business needs.

• Apply expert knowledge and experience to improve product excellence.
• Identify and address construction and manufacturing issues.
• Engage in all phases of the product process to manage projects according to critical dates and complete them on time.
• Meet design intent, performance goals, costing and profitability objectives, sustainability targets, and product integrity requirements.
