NIKE, Inc. is seeking an experienced and inspiring leader to serve as the North America Local Creation Apparel Director. The role leads the NALC Apparel Development team and helps define and deliver the organization’s product excellence vision, strategy, and execution.
Who You’ll Work With
The North America Local Creation team creates distinctive, locally relevant product grounded in consumer, cultural, and hyperlocal insights. You will lead and inspire a cross-functional team, partnering with Design, Product Management, Sourcing, Sports, and other key functions. You will directly lead Product and Material Developers, fostering collaboration, accountability, and excellence throughout the product creation process.
Who We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. NIKE will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
- 9+ years of relevant apparel product creation experience.
- Demonstrated success leading multi-level organizations, including people leaders, while driving alignment and results across cross-functional teams.
- Experience creating and activating long-term strategies to achieve business results.
- Ability to develop talent and build inclusive, high-performing teams.
- Strong results orientation, problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, influence, communication, and stakeholder alignment skills.
- Ability to lead effectively in complex, fast-paced, and evolving environments.
- Experience in apparel or footwear product testing, development, marketing, engineering, retail, or customer service is preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 15–25% per year, domestically and internationally.
What You’ll Work On
- Serve as part of the NALC Leadership Team, managing Apparel and Material Development teams.
- Lead refresh product across multiple Consumers x Sports and develop new apparel creation competencies for the geography, including cut-and-sew apparel.
- Drive product excellence from initial concept through commercialization and production.
- Ensure products are delivered on time and meet critical dates, product specifications, sustainability, and profitability goals.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and global stakeholders to align strategy, priorities, and execution.
- Lead and develop a team of developers, including people managers, while building future organizational capabilities and the operating model.
- Drive excellence across the product creation process.
- Apply workload management tools and metrics to support data-informed decisions.
- Translate organizational strategy into goals for the Apparel and Material Development teams.
- Foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the Apparel organization.
