Senior Designer, Field Sports Footwear Design

Who You’ll Work With

NIKE, Inc. is looking for a Senior Designer, Field Sports Footwear Design. This role focuses on craft, problem solving, and design execution to create the future of Nike Field Sports Footwear and deliver athlete-right, industry-leading solutions.

As a Senior Designer, you will work with project teams across engineering, product management, marketing, merchandising, testing, product development, costing, and design disciplines. You will partner with category team members to ensure design feasibility, price-point requirements, merchandising needs, and product creation timelines. You will work under the direction of the Field Sports Senior Creative Director and report to the Field Sports Senior Design Manager.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking an exceptional designer with proven design excellence, enthusiasm, curiosity for creative problem solving, and a passion for sport. The role supports the future of Football, Baseball, and Cricket at Nike.

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field, or a suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
• 5–7 years of experience designing and developing innovative footwear products.
• Previous footwear design experience required.
• Ability to sketch, cobble, and use 3D applications to bring ideas to life.
• Experience with drawing and sketching, ideation, color theory, texture, spacing, scale, visual presentation development, and layout.
• Knowledge of form, color, materials, and human factors related to the consumer experience.
• Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives.
• Experience in technical performance footwear design; cleated footwear experience is a plus.
• Strong Photoshop and Illustrator skills.
• Ability to build accurate 2D technical drawings and tech packs.
• Cobbling and prototyping skills.
• 3D design, Vizcom AI, sustainable design and manufacturing experience are pluses.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Experience with presentation programs such as Keynote and Acrobat.
• Positive personality and energy, collaborative team behaviors, and the ability to build connections across Nike Design groups.
• Willingness to engage with athletes and external partners and undertake seasonal international development and market travel.

What You’ll Work On

• Create original footwear product designs that reflect Nike’s design philosophy and standards.
• Design and build footwear solutions that advance category innovation.
• Prototype quickly and use 3D tools to develop form, construction, and storytelling.
• Implement footwear product details including construction, color, form, style, fit, performance, and trims.
• Partner and communicate with Design, Technical Development, and external suppliers.
• Create presentation materials that communicate concepts to the design triad team.
• Present design concepts to internal audiences with support from the design team.

You will shape the future of Nike Field Sports Footwear by developing athlete-insight-informed designs that advance product, performance, and aesthetic vision for American Football, Baseball, and Cricket. You will work with project teammates on innovation, testing, manufacturability, sustainability, cost, and aesthetic finish.
