Senior Design Manager, Footwear and Apparel Expression (Color, Graphics, Materials)

NIKE, Inc. is looking for an exceptional Senior Design Manager, Footwear and Apparel Expression (Color, Graphics, Materials), to help shape what’s next for Nike Basketball.

Inspired by the signature athlete, you’ll help define the visual expression of Nike Basketball across footwear and apparel by bringing together sport, style, and performance in a modern, meaningful way. The ideal teammate is a visionary design leader with exceptional taste, a refined aesthetic perspective, strong cultural awareness, and a deep commitment to craft.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design or a related field, or a suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
• At least 8 years of experience in design or a related field.
• Exceptional knowledge of design, art, and fashion, as well as passion for sport and youth culture.
• Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into creative solutions and narratives.
• Ability to articulate design intent and strategy.
• Expert Photoshop and Illustrator skills.
• Experience with Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat, and similar presentation programs.
• Expert knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Ability to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project.
• Ability and passion to lead, coach, collaborate with, and onboard design teammates.
• Passion and curiosity to learn about basketball and the athlete; being a basketball player is not required.

Who You’ll Work With

You will work with engineers, researchers, scientists, marketing, testing, sustainability, materials, costing, and other professionals. You will collaborate within the design community, mentor other designers, and report directly to the Senior Creative Director. This role manages a Lead Expression Designer.

What You’ll Work On

You will create concepts and developments across color, materials, and graphic design for basketball signature athletes. You will elevate new techniques and narratives, partner with key stakeholders throughout the product creation process, and help bring the future vision of Nike Basketball products to life.

You will collaborate with the Senior Creative Director on design direction and serve as a team leader and mentor for other designers.
