We are looking for a Senior DWH Data Analyst to translate business requirements into clear, scalable data solutions for the banking sector. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data modelers, engineers, and governance teams to define requirements, analyse data, and support the delivery of Data Warehouse, ETL, reporting, and analytics solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Work with requesters, consuming applications, and technical teams to clarify requirements, priorities, dependencies, and expected functionality.
- Analyse data from multiple sources to identify trends, anomalies, inconsistencies, and data quality issues.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications, including data contracts, source-to-target mappings, transformation logic, and validation rules.
- Define requirements for Data Warehouse, ETL, data marts, reporting, and analytics solutions across domains such as clients, products, and transactions.
- Document business requirements, workflows, system integration points, use cases, ETL implementations, and enhancements.
- Perform functional and technical gap analysis, change impact analysis, and impact assessment across all Data Warehouse layers.
- Partner with data modelers and engineers to design scalable, high-performance solutions and clarify implementation requirements.
- Collaborate with data governance teams to define metadata, glossary, data quality, reference data, and lineage configurations.
- Support test scenario preparation and validate delivered solutions against agreed requirements.
- Identify and manage risks and dependencies across business and technical teams.
- Contribute to analysis standards, policies, tools, processes, and reusable delivery artefacts.
Required experience and skills
- 3–5 years of experience as a DWH or data analyst on complex banking or financial services projects.
- Strong knowledge of banking processes, products, and data domains.
- Good understanding of Data Warehouse architecture, data marts, ETL processes, data pipelines, and BI implementation.
- Proven experience preparing source-to-target mappings, data contracts, and technical requirements.
- Good SQL skills, including complex queries for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
- Experience with Oracle and familiarity with platforms such as SQL Server, Databricks, or Snowflake.
- Understanding of data modelling and metadata-driven environments.
- Strong knowledge of data management principles and standards.
- Experience with data governance concepts and tools, including business glossary, data quality, reference data management, and lineage.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience working with Agile delivery practices.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Information Technology, or a related field.
