Quantitative Analyst Intern

Job description

With the help of the internship supervisor, the intern will conduct a validation study within the model validation team. The team ensures the viability, robustness and reliability of front-office pricing models before production use. The role involves analysing model assumptions and methodologies, testing implementations and behaviour, and, where possible, reimplementing models in the team’s internal library across asset classes including interest rates, foreign exchange, hybrid, equity, XVA and credit.

The team works closely with Front Office Research, Trading, Risk Management and IT teams on model and methodology topics and provides technical support for risk reports.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and conduct validation studies in accordance with Front Office model validation requests.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses for Risk methodologies and provide technical support to Risk Management teams.
• Contribute to the team’s internal library for pricing and XVA models and methods.
• Comply with applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements and complete mandatory training.

Profile

The candidate should have at least a master’s degree level in financial mathematics or an equivalent qualification, with knowledge of stochastic calculus, including Brownian motion, Itô’s lemma and numeraire changes, as well as numerical methods such as Monte Carlo, PDE resolution and asymptotic analysis. Basic programming skills are required. Strong skills in mathematical finance and knowledge or experience in C++ programming and common library projects are expected. Teamwork and communication skills are essential.
