Job Overview

Maximize the performance and growth of the Mercedes-Benz Vans USA Customer Services business by driving parts revenue opportunities through customer pay and wholesale, supporting new and pre-owned vehicle sales while enhancing customer satisfaction, retention and long-term brand loyalty.

Ensure dealer partners are high-performing, profitable, well-trained, client-focused and competitively positioned. Lead policies, processes and programs supporting MBUSA’s Van network strategy and objectives across Sales, Parts, Services, Product, Engineering, Training and Marketing.

This is a field support role based in California with frequent travel, including up to 75% travel to dealers and dealer groups. The role combines onsite and virtual support to drive business development, dealer engagement and growth across vehicle parts, service contracts and vehicle services.

Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Performance Consulting (75%): Provide dealer support, improve repair orders, vehicle throughput, parts sales, service contract sales and customer retention, and identify new revenue opportunities.
  • Collaborate with MBUSA headquarters teams to implement strategic initiatives and expand services such as Express Service and Mobile Service.
  • Build strong relationships with dealership management, operational teams and vendor partners.
  • Execute strategic plans, guide dealers through performance initiatives and process improvements, and create actionable business plans for parts sales, service contracts and repair order volume.
  • Provide expert guidance on shop throughput, repair order volume, customer experience, operational efficiency and customer acquisition.
  • Track KPIs and performance metrics, analyze trends and support dealers in improving service revenue and retention.
  • Process Compliance (10%): Use MBUSA tools, methods and policies, maintain project documentation and align standardized processes across the dealer network.
  • Facility Management & Brand Compliance (5%): Inspect facilities, support compliance with Mercedes-Benz brand standards and provide guidance on facility processes and protocols.
  • New Dealer Onboarding (5%): Develop standardized onboarding processes and ensure new dealer points have the inventory, training, tools and systems needed for launch.
  • Team/Cultural Development (5%): Foster collaboration, innovation and transparency while leading transformation and continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Automotive Management, Business Management, Finance, Economics, Retail Operations, Statistics, Engineering or a related field preferred, or at least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Over 7 years of experience in sales and aftersales retail or wholesale operations, including business development, service contract sales and automotive repair.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the automotive service industry with a record of driving dealer growth, service excellence and profitability.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive retail, parts and service, repair operations, customer experience, engineering principles and quality management.
  • Experience with market research, data analysis, performance metrics, quality control and communicating with senior and C-level leadership.
  • Strong business development, relationship-building, organizational, planning, public speaking and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of federal and state franchise laws is a plus.
