Job Description
- Manage database optimization, performance monitoring, backup and recovery.
- Support Microsoft SQL Server 2008 through 2025, including SSIS, SSRS and SSAS.
- Implement and support Microsoft Clustering Services, Always On, log shipping and replication.
- Use SQL Server tools including Profiler, SSMS, PerfMon, DMVs and system stored procedures.
- Handle priority incidents and use backup tools such as CommVault and LiteSpeed.
- Use monitoring tools including Foglight, AppDynamics and Redgate.
- Manage AWS databases on PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle and SQL Server.
- Apply PowerShell scripting, performance tuning, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Assist developers with code reviews and understand query execution plans, lock escalation, deadlocks and isolation levels.
- Work independently or collaboratively while meeting deadlines and maintaining strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Six to eight years of total experience expected; the listed experience level is six to ten years.
- Database administrator certification and ITIL certification are preferred.
