The Manager Privacy Counsel identifies and advises on privacy, AI and data regulation topics for assigned stakeholders, enabling business goals while ensuring privacy compliance. The role provides legal assessments and fit-for-purpose advice, coordinates documentation, and delivers projects and requests under the guidance of the Director Global Privacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and align priorities with assigned stakeholders based on regulatory relevance, privacy and AI risk, and business priorities.
  • Deliver tailored advice to ensure compliance and enable stakeholders to achieve their goals.
  • Ensure completion of Privacy Impact Assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments.
  • Produce, verify and negotiate deliverables such as data processing agreements.
  • Engage business owners on risk mitigation and report medium or high risks to a Director.
  • Analyse and assess personal data breaches and escalate verified breaches to Global Privacy management.
  • Coordinate or execute fact-finding for individual complaints and prepare proposed response letters.
  • Provide privacy training and awareness activities, identify training needs, and create training materials.
  • Coordinate individual privacy initiatives and execute complex tasks within major projects.

Key Relationships

Global Privacy, Data & AI Regulation, assigned stakeholders, the wider Global Privacy Community, Global Legal, business peers, project managers, management, external counsel, consultants and suppliers.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3–5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Proven experience in privacy.
  • Experience in large companies; international experience is a plus.
  • Master’s degree in law or an equivalent relevant field.
  • Full law qualification and eligibility for bar admission are a plus.
  • International privacy certification such as CIPP or CIPM is a plus.
