Purpose and Relevance for the Organization
Leads and coordinates the demand planning process for assigned channels, ensuring accurate, timely, and strategically aligned demand plan inputs. The role partners with the Senior Manager, facilitates cross-functional meetings, drives process improvements, manages timelines, solves operational challenges, provides guidance and reporting, mentors junior team members, and oversees channel-specific projects.
Responsibilities
- Channel Planning & Facilitation: Validate and guide demand plan inputs, support volume-to-value translation, facilitate Demand & Supply meetings, perform assumption checks, ensure accurate mass uploads and system updates, and troubleshoot issues affecting the buy signal.
- Strategic Partnership & Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as deputy to the Senior Manager, manage channel calendars and deliverables, escalate risks and opportunities, facilitate alignment across Merchandising, Finance, Channel Buying & Planning, Sales Planning, and Supply Chain, and represent the channel in cross-team forums.
- Project Management & Process Improvement: Lead channel-specific projects, improve forecast accuracy, efficiency, and data quality, and champion global planning standards.
- Reporting & Insights: Oversee channel reporting and present performance, risks, and opportunities to senior stakeholders, translating data into actionable recommendations.
- Team Leadership & Development: Mentor junior team members, provide coaching and feedback, and foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented culture.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership, coaching, analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, communication, and influencing skills
- Advanced project management capabilities
- Proficiency in SAP APO and AFS, advanced Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office
- Fluent in English
Requirements
- 5–7 years of operations experience in a large footwear, apparel, sporting goods, or consumer products organization, with increasing responsibility
- 5–7 years of experience in planning, buying, replenishment, or a related field
- Four-year college degree with an emphasis in business or finance
- Preferable experience in the sports or clothing industry
Work Setting and Location
This is a hybrid position based in Portland, Oregon. Employees are expected in the office Monday through Thursday, with flexibility to work remotely on Friday. In-office attendance may also be required on Fridays for highly collaborative work or in-person presentations.
