Job Overview
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Developer to lead the migration of an on-premises application to the Azure cloud. This hands-on role covers solution design, coding, implementation, optimization, operational excellence, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Cloud Architecture & Development: Provide technical guidance, architect and develop scalable, highly available cloud-native applications on Azure, and mentor junior developers through code reviews and engineering best practices.
- Automation & DevOps: Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and use Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform to automate deployment, monitoring, and management.
- Performance & Optimization: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud resources for performance, cost efficiency, and reliability, including operational administration, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Prepare technical flow charts and diagrams outlining roadmaps, system capabilities, and business processes, while following MBFS processes and procedures.
- Security & Compliance: Implement security controls, IAM policies, encryption techniques, and other cloud security and compliance practices.
- Collaboration: Work with product owners and operations teams to translate business requirements into cloud-based designs and integrate cloud solutions into existing workflows.
Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Minimum of 10 years of overall work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience with Java, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, scalable microservices, and Angular.
- 5+ years of cloud engineering experience, preferably with single-page applications using microfrontend architecture.
- 3+ years of experience with SQL, Hibernate, and REST and/or SOAP web services.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, and serverless architectures.
- Expertise with Terraform, GitHub Actions, and observability tools such as Datadog.
