IT Applications Manager

Job description

IT Applications Manager (CBTS Manager) will be based in Montreal, reporting directly to the CACIB Americas CIO. The primary responsibility is the development and support of corporate banking and transverse systems for users in the US, Brazil and Canada. The manager will supervise BAU activities and projects in data warehousing, core finance, payments, risk and compliance functional areas.

The role covers applications supported by CACIB Head Office IT business lines, including Finance, Risk, Referentials, Compliance, transverse applications, corporate systems, commercial banking, payments, client accounts and client onboarding.

Key responsibilities

• Assign personnel and services to projects, direct activities and ensure project reporting.
• Coordinate with onshore and offshore teams, third parties and Head Office.
• Provide input to general architecture, including hardware, software and infrastructure.
• Advise departments on systems and procedures and build strong relationships with business stakeholders.
• Improve the environment to enhance quality and delivery time or reduce costs.
• Ensure system integrity, including out-of-hours support when required.
• Supervise installation and integration of new services.
• Ensure issues are addressed according to defined procedures and standards.
• Direct research, conduct feasibility studies, design systems and make recommendations.
• Ensure effective change, incident, problem, knowledge, demand, obsolescence, operational controls, project and operational management processes.

Management and leadership

• Lead and manage teams, providing guidance and support.
• Develop teams and processes for continuous improvement.
• Oversee staffing, training, development and performance appraisals.
• Liaise with Finance, Risk, Compliance, Operations and commercial business lines.
• Evaluate and improve procedures and processes.
• Ensure accurate and timely audit-related activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Domain knowledge of finance and risk reporting, commercial banking and compliance.
• Experience leading production support, development and system maintenance.
• Experience in development and business analysis.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary functional and technical staff, including onshore and offshore teams.
• Experience mentoring junior staff.
• Minimum 11 years of experience.
• Knowledge of project management, payment initiation and message formats.
• Knowledge of TI+, ACBS, Oracle EBS, Oracle EPM, Business Objects, RDJ and Axiom.
• Fluent verbal and written English and French required.
• Strong technical knowledge of databases, Linux and Windows systems.
• Experience implementing large information systems and developing technical architectures and solution designs.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience with testing methodologies. JIRA knowledge is an advantage.
