Import & Export Specialist

Objective of job

Provide effective international delivery and customs solutions for vehicles and parts for R&D China, improve transport and cost efficiency, safeguard company compliance with world trade policies and regulations, and implement export control guidelines.

Tasks

Import and export operation management

• Provide professional logistics solutions for internal customers.
• Coordinate with Germany shipping centers, overseas and domestic transport suppliers, and brokers, arranging airfreight, railway, and seaway transportation based on business needs.
• Perform HS classification for all import and export shipments and review brokers’ input.
• Maintain systems and documentation based on audit requirements.
• Handle customs audits and inspections and manage risks during daily work.
• Use digital tools, check billing, and perform timely duty and tax payments.

Export control implementation

• Follow export control guidelines and processes to execute export control measures.
• Coordinate with the HQ Export Control Office and Regional Export Control Hub to support the ECO and ECO deputy in fulfilling their responsibilities.
• Develop effective control tools and measures to ensure compliance and work efficiency.

Continuous improvement

• Continuously optimize import and export processes and related system performance.
• Drive business excellence by understanding policies and customer needs and providing effective, cost-efficient solutions.
• Conduct domestic and international transportation benchmark studies and implement improvements.

Qualifications

• University degree in Logistics Engineering, Business Administration, or a similar subject.
• At least 2 years of experience in logistics or world trade in an international environment.
• Good understanding of customs and international transportation policies and business.
• Good understanding of general supply chain processes.
• Good communication skills and a logical mindset.
• Strong sense of responsibility, motivation for continuous improvement, and willingness to go the extra mile.
• Strong compliance and risk-management awareness, with process development and project management skills.
• Fluency in English and Chinese; German is a plus.
