As a Financial Lawyer, you will:
Corporate Services and Fund Structuring
- Provide legal and administrative support for investment funds.
- Ensure the legal structuring of investment funds, working with regulatory authorities and clients on creations, transformations, mergers, including national and cross-border mergers, and liquidations.
- Assist investment funds with their corporate life, including assembling meeting documents, holding boards of directors and general meetings, writing minutes and performing legal formalities.
- Provide investment funds with legal and administrative support and update contracts and documentation.
- Manage relationships with third parties, including business auditors, custodians and portfolio managers.
- Open and handle proceedings with regulators.
- Update contracts and documentation for investment funds.
Client Contracts
- Write and update framework contracts for services rendered to CACEIS clients, particularly in relation to new regulations.
- Negotiate and monitor negotiations of client contracts relating to the main banking and financial services provided by CACEIS.
- Ensure administrative monitoring of contracts, filing and archiving legal operations.
Regulatory Oversight and Legal Advice
- Provide continuous regulatory oversight over the legal areas of investment funds.
- Provide support and legal advice to various services.
- Contribute to regulatory projects in asset servicing and asset management, mainly UCITS, AIFMD, MiFID, RIS, ESG and outsourcing.
- Participate in CACEIS or Crédit Agricole legal committees and represent the company at BeAMA.
Additional Activities
- Evaluate the impact of regulatory changes within the professional sector.
- Act as a technical consultant for questions relating to the relevant activities and translate complex theoretical principles into practical implications.
- Maintain good relationships with external and internal clients, regulatory authorities and third parties.
- Inform and support newcomers to the team.
Requirements
- Master's degree in law or equivalent experience.
- At least 3–5 years of professional experience in a law firm or a company active in the financial or banking sector.
- Knowledge of the financial sector, especially asset management and asset servicing, is a strong advantage.
- Solution-driven, organised, analytical, creative, relationship-oriented, independent and proactive.
- Proficiency with Office tools.
- Dutch-speaking, with excellent knowledge of French and fluent English.
CACEIS is the asset servicing banking group of Crédit Agricole dedicated to asset managers and institutional investors. The position is hybrid, has no management responsibility and starts on 1 November 2026.
