Job Objective

Develop exterior components and systems for wiper, cleaning and clearing systems, glass and related parts.
Develop wiper and glass systems with suppliers and verify vehicle validation results with relevant stakeholders.
Enable exterior concepts to meet customer requirements and contribute to industrial competitiveness.
Coordinate and realize industrialization activities for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars.
Support change management and resolve plant and after-sales issues involving exterior parts.

Task Description

Develop China-specific parts and manage localization projects from concept definition through part release and handover to series production.
Evaluate and verify localized part maturity as the qualified component responsible person in China, serving as a technical contact for R&D Germany and BBAC joint venture teams.
Assist pilot runs, tryouts and series production at manufacturing plants with technical support.
Support the timely introduction of local and imported parts for current and future Mercedes-Benz projects in China.
Work with product planning, quality and logistics teams to establish milestones and coordinate activities against tight schedules.
Participate in technical and project meetings and present results.
Fulfill homologation requirements and successfully introduce new parts to the Chinese market.

Qualifications

University degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum three years of experience with vehicle or mechanical components, such as wipers.
Solid CAD knowledge; Siemens NX is preferred, with very good knowledge of CATIA or Pro/ENGINEER and willingness to learn new CAD systems.
Technical knowledge of exterior or electrical components is preferred.
Familiarity with development and production processes.
Native Chinese and fluent English; German is preferred.
Strong planning, organizational, supplier-management, communication and problem-solving skills.
High commitment to automobiles, self-responsibility and initiative.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to prepare and support supplier launches.
