Tasks

Objective of job:

Develop China-specific parts and manage part localization projects from styling feasibility to part release, with handover to series production.
Evaluate and verify localized parts maturity as the qualified components responsible person in China, and serve as a contact person for R&D Germany and Joint Venture BBAC regarding technical issues.
Assist pilot tryouts and series production of Mercedes-Benz cars at production plants with technical support and profound knowledge.
Support the on-time introduction of local and imported parts for current and future Mercedes-Benz projects in China.
Work with cross-functional departments such as product planning, quality, and logistics; establish project milestones and coordinate activities to meet tight schedules.
Participate in technical and project meetings and present results.
Fulfill homologation requirements and successfully introduce new parts to the Chinese market.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related major.

Experience: At least 5 years of experience in bumper or exterior add-on parts development at an OEM or supplier.

Specific knowledge:

Solid CAD knowledge; Siemens NX is preferable, with very good knowledge of CATIA or Pro/E and willingness to learn a new CAD system.
Very good knowledge of exterior painted parts, especially development and production processes.
Native Chinese speaker with fluent English language skills; German is preferred.
Strong planning, organizational, and supplier-management skills.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
High commitment to automobiles, with a self-responsible working attitude and initiative.
Willingness to travel domestically and abroad to prepare for and support supplier launches.
