Data Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our engineering team and design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable data engineering solutions and pipelines. You will contribute across the software development lifecycle, including ETL, complex dataset loading, time series data handling, pipeline optimization, and orchestration.

You will work on full stack solutions for the Mercedes Grand Prix Formula 1 project, including front-end, back-end, and UI development for Trackside and Engineering applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines.
• Extract, transform, and load complex datasets in various file formats.
• Write hands-on code in Python; .NET or Kafka experience is a plus.
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with the development team and product owners.
• Perform root cause analysis of production job failures.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data systems to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python, SQL, databases, and time series data handling.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Experience with data pipelines, workflow orchestration, CI/CD, and Git.
• Experience in data engineering, data handling, and ETL of time series and large datasets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, flexibility, self-motivation, and team-player mentality.
• Dashboard-building experience using Grafana or another reporting tool is a plus.
