We’re looking for an outstanding Expert Basketball Apparel Designer to combine experience, problem-solving abilities, and creativity to help build the future of Jordan Apparel. As an Expert Designer in Jordan, you’ll use design skills to build original, style-led designs that reflect Jordan’s design philosophy and lead the industry through innovation.
You will be a collaborative partner across cross-functional teams, execute business priorities, anticipate key trends through research and consumer connection, and lead a team through product excellence and collaboration.
What You Will Work On
As an Expert Basketball Apparel Designer, you will work under the direction of the Design Director to create innovative designs for Performance product lines and partner with cross-functional teams on product development from concepting through production.
- Partner with Jordan Graphic Designers, Color Designers, Developers, and Product Line Managers to bring seasonal creative direction to life.
- Collaborate with Design Leadership and category teams to ensure design feasibility while meeting price points, merchandising needs, and product creation timelines.
- Provide prototype sampling and tech pack information, including fabrication, trim, color, graphic applications, style, detail, fit requirements, and construction details.
- Monitor prototype sample development and collaborate with Development, Pattern Making, Material, and Sample Room teams.
- Provide guidance and leadership to Designers and team members and share knowledge, experience, and product excellence.
- Work across seasonal collections, manufacturing partnerships, athletes, and collaborators.
Who You Will Work With
You will partner with Color Design, Graphic Design, Product Management, and Development teams to bring seasonal creative direction to life through Apparel Design and Innovation.
What You Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design or a related field, or a suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
- 8+ years of experience designing and developing innovative apparel and other products.
- Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives.
- Strong Photoshop and Illustrator skills.
- Ability to build accurate 2D technical drawings and tech packs.
- Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus.
- Experience with 3D design programs is a plus.
- Experience with AI design programs is a plus.
- Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills.
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and construction.
- Ability to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions.
- Experience and knowledge of basketball, or a passion to learn about basketball.
- Positive personality and energy.
- Ability and passion to lead, mentor, and onboard Design teammates.
