Tasks
The dual study program at Mercedes-Benz combines academic education, practical experience and insight into the company. In the campus model, students participate in joint training sessions and seminars, mainly in Stuttgart, and complete practical assignments at the Sindelfingen plant during the second and third years. The theory phases take place at Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW), Friedrichshafen campus.
The Embedded Systems degree program combines engineering and computer science, including electrical engineering, electronics, information technology and systems engineering. The Automotive Engineering specialization covers system and software development, approval requirements, standards and industry standards in the automotive sector. Practical phases may include vehicle development, software and control-unit development, measurement and testing technology, and production.

Additional information
The study program runs from 01.10.2026 to 30.09.2029. Theory phases take place at DHBW Ravensburg, Friedrichshafen campus. Practical assignments are held in Stuttgart during the first year and mainly at the Sindelfingen location from the second year onward; an international assignment is possible. Mobility support includes the Deutschland-Ticket JugendBW, additional financial support for location changes and, generally, accommodation in a dormitory during stays in the Stuttgart metropolitan area.
