Purpose
Lead and enable a people ecosystem in adidas Japan’s retail business centered around moments that matter, delivering value at every touchpoint. Drive the effective implementation of the People Strategy from a business partnering perspective. Act as a Strategic HR Partner to the organization and its people, and lead the local Retail HR Business Partner team.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the key HR Business Partner contact for the Head of Retail and advise employees within the Retail function, including office and store teams.
- Drive and execute the People and HR Strategy for the Retail business in alignment with Global Sales and Japan HR priorities.
- Lead organizational design, change, and transformation initiatives to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Use data, analytics, and dashboards to optimize organizational performance and functional effectiveness.
- Build talent pipelines and succession plans for senior leadership roles.
- Ensure consistent execution of core HR processes in compliance with adidas policies, local labor laws, and internal regulations.
- Coordinate with Rewards, Talent, Talent Acquisition, and FP&A teams on initiatives, headcount, and personnel expense planning.
- Maintain communication with senior management and support organizational and team development decisions.
- Lead, manage, and develop team members while promoting engagement, diversity, and adidas values.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Expertise in employee relations, HR metrics, change delivery, organizational design, workforce planning, and people trends.
- Commercial awareness, business acumen, retail business and talent-market knowledge, and ability to align HR and business strategy.
- Strong consulting, coaching, mediation, facilitation, project delivery, leadership development, communication, influencing, and change-management skills.
- Ability to lead teams, drive innovation, translate strategy into actionable projects, and act as a trusted advisor.
Requisite Education and Experience
- University degree, preferably in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of progressive experience in a multinational company, ideally including HR Business Partner, Rewards, or Talent experience.
- Strategic HR partnering experience and experience with global HR tools and programs.
- Experience handling complex employee relations matters, including discrimination claims and harassment investigations.
- Experience leading HR teams through acquisition, divestiture, or organizational integration.
- International experience and ability to work effectively in a global matrix organization.
- Fluency in Japanese and English.
