Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

This position creates transparency on SEA financial results towards Global Finance, SEA Management and provides decision supporting analysis for strategic initiatives in SEA. It is also responsible for performance management, budgeting, forecasting and consolidation processes for total SEA.

The cornerstone activity of this role is consistency, transparency, planning, analysing, reporting, and partnering with relevant stakeholders in alignment with globally defined standardized guidelines and processes. The role supports the Senior Director Finance and Senior Leadership Management of SEA countries with business updates and ad hoc presentations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute standardized monthly and ad-hoc financial forecasting and reporting processes.
  • Partner with business and senior management to enable fact-based decision-making.
  • Create transparency and act as an advisor for commercial, marketing and finance counterparts based on reporting, forecasting, budgeting, risks, opportunities and management comments.
  • Coordinate, execute and participate in the SEA budgeting process.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end closing reporting according to Group policies.
  • Report on globally aligned KPIs for ad-hoc, short-term and long-term planning.
  • Prepare regular management information for Group Finance relating to actual achievements and forecasts.
  • Partner with global corporate functions such as IT, Logistics and Legal.
  • Manage Operating Working Capital analysis, cash flow controlling, margin analysis, overheads, marketing working budget and brand/category analysis.
  • Identify improvement potential through variance analysis, derive solutions and facilitate decisions.
  • Develop new processes, working methods, analytical tools, standards and operational plans.
  • Support SEA countries on accounting treatment issues and compliance with Group regulations.
  • Manage, monitor, report and approve Capex spending for SEA subsidiaries.
  • Manage standardized and ad hoc DTC analysis and reporting.
  • Manage comprehensive Retail channel controlling, analysis and reporting.
  • Control T&E spending and provide regular detailed reporting.
  • Act as the single point of contact for HQ and SEA countries for information provision and consolidation of results.
  • Lead medium-to-large projects and ensure sustainability of achievements.
  • Manage order-book and BOH analysis and validation of risks and opportunities.
  • Coach and guide junior team members.

Key Relationships

Internal relationships include the Senior Director Finance, SEA Finance Team, market finance teams, market managing directors, commercial teams, Internal Control & Profit Protection, corporate functions, Group Finance and Global Sales. External relationships include consultants and internal and external auditors.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from senior managers, stakeholders and cross-functional business leaders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of business processes and structures.
  • Good understanding of currency and exchange-rate impacts in a complex geographical area.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior Finance leadership at market and global levels.
  • Ability to think and act strategically and develop operational plans.
  • Excellent analytical, written, oral, organizational and presentation skills.
  • Ability to operate cross-functionally in a changing environment and understand external business drivers.
  • High degree of customer orientation.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or qualification in Finance, Economics or Accounting.
  • 8–10 years of experience in Controlling or Business Analysis.
  • Industry experience ideally in apparel, fashion, consumer goods or FMCG.
  • Solid accounting skills and experience.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Familiarity with SAP and other relevant adidas and industry finance systems or analytical software is a major plus.
