Deputy General Manager – Facilities Management

Purpose of the Role
To lead and transform facilities management for MBRDI by ensuring world-class infrastructure, operational excellence, and compliance across all campuses. The role is responsible for creating a safe, sustainable, and employee-centric workplace that supports high-performance engineering and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilities Strategy & Governance: Define and drive the facilities management strategy aligned with MBRDI’s growth and global standards; establish governance frameworks, SOPs, and KPIs; lead budgeting, cost optimization, and long-term infrastructure planning.
- Operations & Infrastructure Management: Oversee daily operations across offices, labs, R&D facilities, and common areas; ensure uptime and reliability of critical infrastructure; drive preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Workplace Experience & Employee Enablement: Build a seamless workplace experience; drive smart-office, digital workplace, and space-optimization initiatives; ensure readiness for leadership visits, events, and stakeholder engagements.
- Vendor & Contract Management: Manage strategic facility-service vendors, negotiate contracts, drive SLAs, and implement performance tracking and continuous improvement.
- Compliance, Safety & Risk Management: Ensure statutory and regulatory adherence; lead EHS initiatives and audits; drive business continuity, emergency response, and crisis management.
- Sustainability & ESG Initiatives: Drive energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, green-building practices, and carbon-footprint reduction; support ESG reporting.
- Stakeholder Management: Partner with leadership, HR, IT, business units, and global Mercedes-Benz teams on infrastructure needs and standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing facilities team and build capabilities in smart infrastructure, digital facilities management, and sustainability.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.
- 15–20 years of facilities-management experience, preferably in large R&D, GCC, or corporate setups.
- Experience managing multi-location facilities and large teams.
