CS Group Canada, a subsidiary of CS Group and part of the Sopra Steria Group, is seeking a Deputy Director, Defense & Security Business Development to lead the go-to-market strategy, business development, and strategic positioning of its Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) solution across Canada.
This senior, strategic and hands-on role involves engaging with senior stakeholders in defense, security, and government ecosystems while building and expanding a new market.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the go-to-market strategy for the Counter-UAS offering.
- Contribute to product positioning, value proposition, competitive differentiation, pricing strategy, and commercial models.
- Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships with OEMs, primes, system integrators, and government stakeholders.
- Build alliances to accelerate market access and product adoption.
- Represent CS Group Canada in defense and security ecosystems, industry events, trade shows, and strategic forums.
- Establish trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Lead prospecting, pipeline generation, client engagement, proposal development, and contract negotiation.
- Identify and secure opportunities across defense, homeland security, critical infrastructure, and government agencies.
- Manage the sales funnel, CRM records, sales KPIs, and business growth targets.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and program teams to align customer needs with solution development.
- Support bid/no-bid decisions and contribute to proposals and RFP responses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in business development.
- Experience selling complex systems or solutions in high-tech industries.
- Experience building and executing go-to-market strategies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Experience with CRM tools and digital sales platforms.
- Fluency in English and French is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Counter-UAS, radar, sensors, or electronic warfare.
- Business development or sales experience in security, defense, aerospace, or mission-critical technologies.
- An existing network in defense, public safety, or critical infrastructure sectors.
- Experience working with primes or government agencies.
- Familiarity with export control and regulatory environments such as ITAR and CGP.
