Tasks

Objective of Job: Defect management is responsible for driving the ticket resolution process for the China market, leading and coordinating issue resolution across different projects, aligning global development teams, creating transparency, ensuring successful MBUX issue resolution, and improving software maturity.

Control and manage defect status in relevant systems, ensuring data is up to date and synchronized.
Own the overview of MBUX defects during software delivery and provide transparency to relevant functions.
Drive the defect management process with the MBUX project lead and system integration to ensure effective bug-fixing progress.
Collaborate with system integration, domain defect owners, and functional owners to ensure software maturity.
Maintain alignment with headquarters regarding defect progress.
Report regularly to the project lead, cross-domain functional and product owners, and management on software maturity and debugging progress.
Update weekly and daily dashboards to create transparency about the status quo for the project team.
Leverage AI tools, such as LLM-based assistants and AI-powered analytics, to automate defect triage, categorization, and trend analysis; improve reporting, identify recurring issues, and accelerate root-cause resolution.
Escalate overdue defect tickets and debugging lead times to management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, including electrical engineering, software engineering, computer science, or a similar discipline.
Basic knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Java, C++, Swift/Objective-C, or Python.
Good knowledge of software development processes.
At least 2 years of experience in software or vehicle development projects.
Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies; project planning, risk analysis, and PMP are a plus.
Experience with in-car telematics and ADAS applications is a plus.
Experience in Agile development environments, CI/CD, and Agile/Scrum methodology is preferred; scrum master or product owner experience is a plus.
Advanced MS Office skills in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar project management tools.
Familiarity with AI-powered defect-management tools, including automated defect triage, pattern analysis, and AI-assisted report generation.
Experience using AI/ML approaches to analyze defect trends, predict risk areas, and accelerate root-cause analysis is a plus.
Self-responsibility, high motivation, team spirit, leadership, drive, and excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Willingness to travel within China and internationally.
Very good English; German is a plus.
