Chassis EE systems include critical, driving-safety-related components such as Electric Power Steering (EPS), Brake Regulation System (ESP), Intelligent Active Suspension Control System and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
As a Software/Hardware Development Engineer, you will work across the following responsibilities:
- System development: Lead EPS hardware development across the full development cycle, from requirements gathering and system design to prototyping, integration testing and release.
- Technical implementation: Analyze and implement technical requirements in coordination with mechanical, electronic and software teams. Define and execute EPS system test plans, including software and hardware testing, and solve technical problems.
- System integration: Integrate components and systems into the vehicle architecture and work with vehicle integration and ADAS teams to achieve functional requirements.
- Innovation management: Develop and implement new concepts and technologies, particularly by-wire technology, electromobility and automated driving.
- Analysis and testing: Conduct system analyses, simulations and tests to ensure performance and reliability.
- Technical documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation and specifications.
- Participate in the creation and validation of relevant system Functional Safety (FuSa) development.
- Work closely with suppliers and plants on component development and industrialization.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, information engineering, embedded systems, automotive engineering or a related engineering field.
- Profound knowledge of chassis EE systems software and hardware design, testing and release, such as EPS and ESP, at OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
- Proficiency in automotive brake control systems, processes, standards and toolchains.
- In-depth understanding of automotive product and technology development trends.
- Strong technical knowledge of cross-domain vehicle network communication protocols.
- Good understanding of Automotive AUTOSAR architecture.
- Strong ownership, motivation, decision-making ability and teamwork skills.
- Strong mentoring skills and a focus on continuous learning and operational excellence.
- Fluent English; German is a plus.
- Adequate driving skills. Mercedes-Benz or another OEM's internal driving qualification for high-level dynamic driving testing is preferred.
