The Westin Tempe is looking for an On-Call - Banquet Server to join its banquet team. AM/PM availability, including weekends and holidays, is required.

A Banquet Server services guests at the hotel in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner. Responsibilities include greeting guests, providing prompt service, checking guests out at the end of their stay, and delivering an outstanding guest experience.

The Banquet Server participates in the setup, decoration, food and beverage service, and breakdown of functions in the banquet meeting room in accordance with the BEO and Crescent and Westin Tempe standards. The role also maintains the cleanliness, repair, and safety of equipment and work areas.

  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
  • Ability to understand and apply written product-labeling instructions
  • Ability to remember, recite, and promote menu items
  • Ability to transport up to 30 pounds through a crowded room continuously throughout a shift
  • Ability to operate beverage equipment such as a coffee maker

Performance Standards

Associates are expected to maintain professional and courteous interactions with guests and coworkers, meet hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality, and attendance, adapt to changes, learn new skills, solve routine problems, and request assistance when needed. Associates must also follow hotel safety and security policies, including procedures for key controls, lifting, chemical use, and reporting hazards.
