CACEIS Malaysia is seeking an Associate Director, Compliance to provide independent assurance, advice and reporting to the APAC region. The role is based in Putrajaya, Malaysia, and operates from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Manage one compliance manager, including task planning, performance reviews and employee processes.
- Advise line management and executives on regulatory, statutory and corporate requirements.
- Monitor local and source-jurisdiction regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
- Identify procedural control requirements arising from new or amended legislation, regulations or Group procedures.
- Develop, implement and enforce a consistent compliance framework, including policies, procedures, manuals and guidelines.
- Provide local induction, annual compliance training and follow-up on Group training covering the Code of Conduct, AML and data privacy.
- Prepare progress reports for Group Compliance, the Malaysian office Board of Directors and the Management Operations Committee.
- Act as the liaison with regulators, law enforcement and other governmental authorities.
- Undertake due diligence on providers to which the Malaysian office may delegate services or functions.
- Review non-compliance and privacy incidents and follow up on related action plans.
- Analyse and process cash and securities filtering alerts escalated by the first line of defence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in legal, accounting or operations.
- At least 8–10 years of compliance experience, including practical experience and leadership responsibility.
- Mature, self-starting and confident, with the ability to articulate compliance positions to senior executives.
- Experience working in a dynamic, high-stress, multi-faceted corporate environment.
- Ability to work with auditors, regulators, senior leadership and Group stakeholders.
- Professional compliance designations are an asset; project management qualifications are advantageous.
- Experience with regulators such as CSSF, OSFI, FSA, Bank of Ireland, MAS, MPFA or AUSTRAC is advantageous.
- English language proficiency.
