Purpose
As a member of the store management team, assists the Store Manager in ensuring all operational, business, and personnel targets are achieved for the store. Oversees the daily operation of the store and assures compliance with company policies and government legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports the Store Manager in managing daily store operations, sales, operations, key performance indicators, and profit and loss expectations.
- Communicates and demonstrates adidas brand values, attitude, and culture.
- Implements corporate programs, initiatives, strategies, policies, and seasonal programs.
- Assists with succession, recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, performance feedback, and talent development.
- Promotes a high-performance culture by setting expectations, supporting accountability, and establishing team goals.
- Supports training and execution in business, operations, sales, customer service, and visual merchandising.
- Assists with recordkeeping for applicants, new hires, payroll, performance appraisals, salary reviews, counselling, disciplinary actions, and employee separations.
- Monitors competition, inventory levels, styling selections, wage costs, expenses, cash management, shrink control, and store security.
- Ensures adherence to POS system integrity, company policies, government legislation, employment standards, and health and safety guidelines.
- Maintains the building and premises in a safe, organized, and clean manner.
- Works with store and retail management teams and follows visual merchandising guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient retail operational, selling, fiscal, and business management skills.
- Coaching, talent management, prioritization, resource allocation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn POS systems and web portals.
- Ability to work varied schedules, including weekends, evenings, statutory holidays, and additional hours during peak sales periods.
- Ability to frequently lift or move up to 12 kg and occasionally lift or move up to 25 kg.
Qualifications
College or university degree and one year of retail experience, preferably in sporting apparel and footwear, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior management and keyed experience is preferred.
