Acquisition Finance & Advisory Assistant H/F

Crédit Agricole CIB, the corporate and investment bank of the Crédit Agricole group, is seeking an intern to join the Acquisition Finance & Advisory (AFA) team within Corporate & Leveraged Finance.

The team supports major corporate clients by marketing, coordinating, structuring and executing acquisition financing transactions; assisting clients in their dialogue with credit rating agencies; and advising on capital structure in connection with acquisitions, disposals, refinancing and other transformational transactions.

Main responsibilities

• Prepare commercial presentations for French and European clients in collaboration with other business lines.
• Prepare financial models to assess borrowers’ debt capacity, define transaction financing structures and optimise capital structures.
• Conduct in-depth analyses of clients, targets and their business sectors.
• Review company files to assess credit risk using credit rating agency methodologies.
• Analyse current company and competitor ratings, anticipate future developments and assess the impact of financial transactions.
• Participate in execution processes, including preparing approval requests, legal negotiations, implementation and syndication monitoring where applicable.

Profile

University, business school or engineering school graduate specialising in corporate finance or economics. A one-year Master’s degree (M1) is required. The role is suitable for candidates with 0–2 years of experience.

Required skills include strong knowledge of corporate finance and accounting, good financial modelling and analysis skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint, and fluent French and English. Initiative, rigour, team spirit and respect for deadlines are also expected.
