Shift: Back Half Day (Wed-Sat, 6:00am-4:30pm)
Purpose
Safely handle, operate and maneuver various trucks and trailers in the yard to reposition them as needed. Move trailers to designated docks for loading and unloading as directed by the leadership team. Safely operate assigned powered industrial trucks and other powered equipment to move product around the distribution center.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate vehicles safely by following all safety rules and demonstrating professional command of the equipment.
- Utilize powered equipment to pick and put away product efficiently and accurately, as assigned by a supervisor.
- Inspect equipment and verify and report damage or concerns.
- Use computers to run and print basic reports.
- Identify and communicate exceptions to the leadership team.
- Follow all standard operating procedures.
- Accurately record production by task and complete necessary paperwork.
- Work overtime as needed and train and work in multiple areas.
- Work safely and maintain a clean work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience operating tractor trailers.
- Ability to attain adidas certification to safely operate assigned powered equipment, including order pickers, turret trucks, reach trucks, powered pallet jacks and sit-down forklifts.
- Basic math and communication skills.
Essential Functions
The employee must safely operate a yard truck to maneuver trailers around a crowded yard and be able to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk, and use fingers, hands, arms and feet to operate equipment for up to 10 hours per day. The role may require working at heights up to 35 feet, in warehouse environments with varying temperatures, and lifting and carrying boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Bending, twisting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling may also be required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- At least three months of experience operating a yard truck and/or spotting trailers in a fast-paced environment.
- Six months of previous forklift operating experience.
- Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English.
