Working student (m/f/x) Open Source Program Office (OSPO)

Tasks

As a working student in the Open Source Program Office (OSPO), you support the team with strategic and operational topics related to open source.

• Organize Open Source Community events, workshops and campaigns, including preparation and follow-up.
• Research current open source projects, trends, technologies and best practices and prepare relevant information.
• Support the creation of the open source report, presentations, reports and analyses for management and specialist units.
• Contribute to communication measures for the Mercedes-Benz Developer Community and the further development of the Open Source Community.
• Analyze open source usage and community key figures and present the results clearly.

Qualifications

You study computer science, business informatics, software engineering or a similar course of study. You are passionate about open source software and communities and interested in community management, developer experience and modern forms of collaboration.

• Initial experience with Git, GitHub, GitLab or comparable platforms.
• Basic knowledge of modern software development and DevOps practices.
• Ideally, experience contributing to open source projects or a desire to become actively involved.
• Structured and independent working style with strong German and English communication skills.
• Confident use of Microsoft 365, especially Teams, PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint.
