Role Overview

Atos is seeking a US Tax Analyst to support U.S. indirect tax compliance activities. This role focuses on sales and use tax return preparation, audit support, tax reconciliations, and analytical support for the Sales and Use Tax function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file U.S. sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Prepare sales and use tax data for compliance, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Respond to state and local tax notices and assist with audit inquiries.
  • Support sales and use tax audits by compiling data, reviewing workpapers, and providing documentation.
  • Prepare and manage resale and exemption certificates for customers and vendors.
  • Analyze purchases to determine use tax accrual requirements.
  • Prepare tax-related journal entries and assist with general ledger reconciliations.
  • Provide analytical support for tax compliance, reporting, and system-related issues.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve tax reporting and compliance issues.
  • Participate in special projects, including tax research, process improvements, and internal reviews.

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

Professional Experience

Two or more years of experience in U.S. or Mexican tax and accounting functions. Sales and use tax or indirect tax experience is preferred. Candidates with general U.S. tax experience will also be considered.

Must-have Qualifications and Skills

  • Solid accounting knowledge, including journal entries, debits and credits, trial balances, and general ledger accounts.
  • Experience preparing and analyzing large datasets in Excel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and IF formulas.
  • Experience working with tax returns and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Good-to-have Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience with tax software such as Vertex or Avalara.
  • SAP knowledge.
  • Audit experience.
  • Financial data analysis experience.
  • Experience with sales and use tax reconciliations.
